Description
The Pen Pot is inspired by the creative and unintentional uses of objects in our home; Created as a multifunctional vessel and inspired by the ‘yunomi’ cups found throughout Japan and used in the Japanese tea ceremony. The piece can serve as a stylish pen holder, a coffee or tea cup, or even a little vase. The design pays homage to the Japanese philosophy of finding beauty and purpose in everyday objects, redefining functionality with an artistic touch.
This collection of beautifully considered objects combines the elegance of traditional Japanese craft with the contemporary functional aesthetics of modernist British design.
Each piece in our Imari collection has been produced exclusively for us using our designs by artisans at the Kanemon Kiln in Okawachiyama.Located in Imari, Saga Prefecture, and is often referred to as the "Village of Secret Kilns."
Each Pen pot is handmade using the traditional Nabeshima-Sometshuke colours and pigments.
To create this limited edition collection we have used hand-made techniques and any perceived imperfection in the material and finish is part of the unique character of each individual piece.
